purpose of the Luci Shaw Fellowship is to expose a promising undergraduate
student to the world of literary publishing and the nonprofit arts
organization, and to introduce fellows to the contemporary dialogue about art
and faith that surrounds Image, its programs, its contributors, and its
we’re looking for summer fellows who share our vision for the place art has in
the life of faith, and who are also diligent, meticulous, and responsible about
the daily details.

Eligibility: Any person currently enrolled in
a four-year undergraduate institution. (Note: seniors who will graduate right
before the summer fellowship begins are still welcome to apply.)

A cover letter introducing yourself. Tell us how you heard about the position, what
interests you about Image, and what
you’d hope to gain from the experience. This is also your chance to let us know
about particular skills or areas of interest.
resume (including phone, mailing address, email, and expected graduation date)
A writing sample of 10 to 20 pages. This should include, if possible, both creative and critical writing. The creative writing sample might include a work of creative nonfiction or a short story, and can include poetry, but
it shouldn’t be all poetry. The critical paper, if possible, should include a piece of prose that analyzes a work of literature, art, or music. Also acceptable would be an essay or op-ed uses philosophy, theology, or other discipline to engage art or aesthetics.
